The 2019-20 season will be the fourth at Navy for assistant coach Ryenn Micaletti.

Micaletti’s first two season with the Midshipmen were memorable as the program won a combined 49 games over the 2016-17 and 2017-18 campaigns.

As a first-year assistant with the Mids, Navy compiled a 24-10 record, placed second in the Patriot League with a mark of 14-4, reached the title game of the league tournament and garnered an automatic berth into the 2017 WNIT tournament. There, the Mids made school history as their first-round victory over George Washington was the first national post-season tournament win for the program.

Navy repeated its success again in 2017-18 as the team went 25-8, 13-5 in conference. The Mids finished third in the Patriot League during the regular season and reached the finals of the conference tournament. The cap to the winningiest season in program was a matchup with Virginia Tech in the first round of the WNIT.

The 2018-19 season was one marked by contributions from an extremely young squad with only one senior on its roster. With Micaletti's guidance, Midshipmen freshmen earned four Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors (three-Jennifer Coleman, one-Kolbi Green), and culminated with Jennifer Coleman garnering spots on both the All-Patriot League Third Team and Patriot League All-Rookie Team. Coleman finished her freshman campaign top-11 in the league in points (13.1 ppg/5th), rebounds (8.2 rpg/6th) and assists (2.9 apg/11th). As a team, Navy stayed competitive throughout the 2018-19 season on the strength of its defense that allowed just 57.8 points per game, the second-lowest in the Patriot League. Senior Bianca Roach was a leading factor for the Mids' defense as the All-Patriot League Defensive Team member ranked third in the conference with 2.0 steals per game.

Micaletti arrived on The Yard after serving as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock for the past two seasons. The Rock, which competes on the NCAA Division II level, posted a combined record of 24-31 in her stint at the school. Prior to that, she was an assistant coach at fellow Division II program Indiana (Pa.) for the 2013-14 season –– 18-10 record –– and at Point Park University for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 campaigns. The Pioneers advanced to the NAIA Division II Tournament in both of her seasons and amassed a two-year mark of 48-14.

The New Castle, Pa., native played four years of collegiate basketball at Seton Hill. The squad posted a 45-16 record over the course of her last two seasons and advanced to the NCAA (DII) Tournament during her junior year. Micaletti was Seton Hill’s starting point guard in every game as a senior.

In addition to graduating from Seton Hill in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, she also attained a Master of Arts degree in curriculum and instruction (adult education and training specialization) from Point Park in 2016.
