ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Navy sophomore punter John Skaggs (Pensacola, Fla.) was named Honorable Mention All-America and First-Team All-Independent by Football News.

Skaggs averaged 44.8 yards per punt for the season, which was the fifth-best average in the country and broke the 60-year old school record of Bill Busik, who averaged 43.8 yards per punt in 1941.
