Madden and Wagoner Suspended

ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Naval Academy head football coach Charlie Weatherbie

announced today that senior quarterback Brian Madden (Lawton, Okla.) and

senior defensive end Michael Wagoner (Wichita Falls, Texas) have been

suspended for violating Academy rules. Madden has been suspended for the

first two games, while Wagoner's suspension is for an undetermined number of

games. Weatherbie also announced that Madden has voluntarily resigned his

captaincy and that senior Ed Malinowski (Canonsburg, Pa.) will be the

offensive team captain.
