Moody Named Verizon Second-Team Academic All-American

ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Navy senior offensive guard Grant Moody (Eureka, Kan.) has been named to the Verizon Academic All-America Second-Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Moody, who is majoring in Quantitative Economics and carries a 3.93 GPA, is a two-year starter on the offensive line and is preparing to play in his last college football game this Saturday against Army (12 noon, Giants Stadium).

Moody is also going through interviews this week for a Rhodes Scholarship and if selected he would be just the third Navy football player in school history to be selected for a Rhodes Scholarship and the first since Stansfield Turner received one in 1947. Turner late went on to become the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
