Annapolis, MD (Sports Network) - Alex Wade scored two touchdowns while racking

up 123 yards rushing to lead the Duke Blue Devils over the Navy Midshipmen,

43-17, at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium.

Duke (2-3) quarterback Adam Smith completed 11-of-17 pass attempts for 144

yards with two touchdowns in the victory.

Craig Candeto had a rough day under center for Navy (1-3) as he completed

just 3-of-10 passes for 55 yards with a touchdown before being pulled from the

game in the third quarter.

Navy drew first blood when Candeto scored on a three-yard touchdown run.

Candeto's score was the culmination of a nine-play, 70-yard drive which gave

the Midshipmen a 7-0 lead with 6:48 left in the first period.

The Blue Devils responded with a 50-yard field goal by Brent Garber to cut the

Navy lead to 7-3 with 3:22 left in the first stanza.

The Midshipmen pushed the lead back to seven points with 13:18 left in the

second quarter when Geoffrey Blumenfeld booted a 28-yard field goal to put the

score at 10-3 in favor of Navy.

The rest of the half was all Duke as the Blue Devils closed out the half with

three unanswered touchdowns. Smith hit Calen Powell on an 11-yard touchdown

pass to cut the Navy lead to 10-9 after Garber missed on the point after try.

Senterrio Landrum then scampered 69 yards for a score to give the Blue Devils

a 15-10 edge after the two-point conversion failed. Smith hit Khary Sharpe

with a 45-yard touchdown strike to give Duke a 22-10 halftime advantage.

The third quarter belonged to Duke as they scored 21 unanswered points.

Backup quarterback Chris Dapolito threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Reggie

Love and Wade scored on runs from seven and 16 yards out to give the Blue

Devils a commanding 43-10 advantage.

Navy wrapped up the scoring with 14:52 left in the game when Aaron Polanco

found pay dirt on a one-yard run, but the Midshipmen were still left with a
