Eckel Named Independent Player of the Week by Collegefootballnews.com

ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Navy junior fullback Kyle Eckel (Havertown, Pa.) was named the Collegefootballnews.com Independent Player of the Week for his 176-yard, one touchdown performance in Navy's 28-25 upset of 25th-ranked Air Force. The victory was the first by Navy over Air Force since 1996 and the first over a ranked opponent since 1985.

Navy (3-2) travels to Nashville, Tenn. Saturday to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores (1-5) in a 2 p.m. (Eastern) contest.
