Eckel Selected For Hula Bowl All-Star Game
ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Navy Fullback Kyle Eckel (Haverford, Pa.) has been selected to play in the Hula Bowl All-Star game, which will take place Jan. 22 in Maui, Hawaii. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (EST) and the game will be televised by ESPN.
Eckel is the 24th player in school history to be selected for the Hula Bowl All-Star game and the first since tackle Derek Jaskowiak in 2002.
Eckel, who has also been selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game and the Gridiron Classic, is one of just six players in school history to be selected to three or more all-star games.
Roger Staubach ('65) and Chet Moeller ('76) were selected to four all-star games apiece, while Greg Mather ('62), Napoleon McCallum ('85) and Terrence Anderson ('00) were selected to three.
