Annapolis, Md. - The Navy baseball team will conduct three separate holiday camps from Dec. 28-29, at Halsey Fieldhouse.
There will be a youth camp (ages 7-12) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a pitcher/catcher camp (ages 13-18) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. both days. The final camp each afternoon will be a hitting clinic (ages 13-18) from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Navy coaching staff, along with high school coaches and current Navy baseball players, will serve as instructors during the camp.
The youth camp will give each camper the opportunity to work on both offense and defense. The staff will conduct a series of rotations with specific drills to allow campers to work on and improve throwing, hitting and fielding skills.
The pitcher/catcher camp will involve intensive instruction in all areas of pitching, arm conditioning and pitch development. Catchers will benefit from blocking drills, throwing drills and catching bullpens.
The hitting camp will include extensive work on upper and lower body mechanics, drill work and live batting practice.
