Patriot League Names Bossi Its Offensive Player of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After a seven-goal, one-assist week against Patriot League foes Hobart and Colgate, Navy senior attack Joe Bossi (Skaneateles, N.Y.) was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week. It marked the second-consecutive week in which a Navy player was recognized by the league office. Last week, Ian Dingman (Deferiet, N.Y.) and Mitch Hendler (Reisterstown, Md.) were named the Patriot League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Bossi, Navy's second-leading scorer with 16 points on 14 goals and two assists, opened the week by producing four goals, including the game winner against Hobart. He followed up with a hat trick against Colgate in a game contested at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

A two-year starter, Bossi has already surpassed his goal total from a year ago by two and is just five away from his career total entering the season.

"Joe has given us the senior year we needed from him," said Navy head coach Richie Meade. "He has steadily improved over his four years and this is the product of his improvement. In addition to his play, he's been an outstanding leader for us this season."

The Midshipmen return to action Saturday when they travel to West Point to face their arch rivals. Army and Navy are slated to face-off at 12-Noon with the action carried live on College Sports Television, as well as on the radio at 1430 WNAV .
