Navy Football Parking FAQ

Oct. 5, 2005

Q. What is the parking policy?

A. Fans will be admitted to the parking lot at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium by season or individual game day pass only. There will be no game day sale of parking at the stadium. Fans can buy season and single-game parking passes on-line at www.navysports.com, by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY or at the Ricketts Hall Box office. To buy a parking pass you must purchase a game ticket as well. Parking passes will not be sold to non-ticket holders.

Q. Why was this policy put in place?

A. The interest in Navy football is at an all-time high thanks to the recent success of our team and the ongoing renovations at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. We now have over 17,000 season tickets, which is a school record, and we believe this policy will be able to prioritize the parking needs of our loyal fans, both season and single-game ticket buyers. This policy also helps traffic flow, as there will be no exchange of money at the gates.

Q. If I buy a pass am I guaranteed a parking spot?

A. Yes. We are only going to sell 4,400 pre-paid parking passes, which is the number of parking spots we have. There will be a spot for you upon presenting your pass.

Q. What if I decide on the day of the game to come and watch Navy play and do not have a pass on hand. Where do I park?

A. No problem! We have several convenient alternatives for you. Parking will be available at Germantown Elementary, located across the street from the stadium off Cedar Park Drive. You can also utilize several downtown parking garages from which you can either walk or take an Annapolis Transit Bus Route (free with a game ticket) to the stadium. Additionally, the Naval Academy Athletic Association provides a free shuttle from the Harry Truman Park-and-Ride on Truman Parkway. Please come early and enjoy our game day atmosphere.

Q. I bought a season parking pass. What do I do?

A. Read the back of your parking pass for proper directions and lot regulations. Follow posted traffic directions on game day. Come early, tailgate and enjoy the pageantry.

Q. What if I have an oversized vehicle?

A. An oversized vehicle is any vehicle that is larger than one standard parking spot. Oversized vehicle parking passes are available for $150 for a season pass or $30 for an individual game pass. All oversized vehicles will be required to park in the Gold Lot (Northeast corner). These passes must be purchased prior to game day and we strongly suggest that you arrive early.

Q. What time can I enter the parking lot?

A. Cars may enter and park in the stadium lot for which they hold a pass any time after 6:30 a.m. on the day of the game. Cars must be removed from the lots no later than two and a half hours after the game.

Q. What about handicap parking?

A. Handicap parking spots are available on a first come first serve basis and a parking pass needs to be purchased in advance of game day. In order for you to park in a handicap spot you must have one of the following: 1) A copy of a valid state-issued handicap parking placard or license plate. 2) A copy of a valid state-issued handicap parking registration card. 3) A copy of a photo ID of the handicap permit holder that matches the handicap parking permit card.

Q. I'm coming back for my class reunion. What should I do?

A. The Naval Academy Alumni Association has been working closely with the reunion coordinators and class presidents. The reunion coordinators are securing busses to transport reunion attendees from their hotel to the stadium on game day. If you have already purchased a game ticket you can also buy single-game parking for that specific game by calling the ticket office.

Q. Will the pass get me a reserved spot next to my tailgate spot?

A. No it will not. The pass will allow you to enter the lot and park in any unmarked spot of your choosing. Tailgaters are encouraged to enter the lot more than two hours prior to kickoff before the lot attendants begin directed parking.
