After fighting back from losing the first two games and then trailing 8-6 in game five, the Navy volleyball team scored nine of the match's final 11 points to pull out a victory over Holy Cross, Saturday night in Worcester, Mass. The Midshipmen improved to 5-2 in Patriot League matches this season with the 27-30, 23-30, 30-15, 30-11, 15-10 victory over the Crusaders.

The victory over Holy Cross came one night after Navy defeated Army in four games to win the N-Star.

"Holy Cross deserves a lot of credit for how they played," said Navy head coach Mike Schwob. They played hard and really frustrated.

"I also was very proud of how our team rallied during the break after the second game. Tonight's match could easily have been a three-game sweep for Holy Cross, but our players intensified their focus, stuck together and pulled out a great win."

Ashley Musser (Sr., Industry, Pa.) picked up her second triple-double in as many nights, tallying a career-high 24 kills to go along with 30 assists and 11 digs. Also setting a career high on the night was Megan Vehovic (Sr., Clymer, Pa.) who hauled in 28 digs.

Navy as a team hit .299 in the match while holding Holy Cross to a .103 attack percentage. Navy's defense totaled 83 digs and 8.5 blocks, with Holy Cross totaling 66 digs and 5.0 blocks.

Navy will next be in action Friday when the Mids play at American in a 7 p.m. match.
