Navy Handles Washington (Md.), 106-80

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Kaleo Kina scored 19 points to lead six Navy players in double figures, and the Midshipmen beat Division III Washington College of Maryland 106-80 on Sunday.

Matt Fannin added 17 points for the Midshipmen (3-4), who won their third straight. Reserve David Hooper had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Navy shot a season-high 54 percent from the field and reached 100 points for the first time since January 2000. It was the Midshipmen's highest point total since they scored 109 against Lehigh in February 1997.

Hooper scored seven points in an 18-4 run that transformed a 7-5 deficit into a 23-11 lead midway through the first half. The Mids' advantage never dropped below 14 points the rest of the way.

Adam Teague, who had 10 points, hit a long jumper and a 3-pointer to start an 11-0 run that gave Navy its largest lead, 63-38 with 15:52 left in the game.

Kyle Stem went 12-for-15 from the free-throw line and scored 27 points for the Shoremen (5-5), who were playing their first game against a Division I opponent in two seasons. Dustin Abbate scored 13 points, Travis Moore had 11 and Tim Kohlrus added 10 for Washington.
