Navy Cruises Past John Jay In NCAA Qualifier

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy rifle team performed well and cruised past John Jay at this weekend's NCAA Qualifier. The Mids outscored John Jay 4663 - 3699 to claim the easy victory.

Navy was led by Chris Schneider, who recorded a season-best 1174 on a pair of 587s in smallbore and air rifle. Matt Albright added a 1171 on a 580 in smallbore and a 589 in air rifle. Mike Miller compiled a 1161 on a 579 and 582, respectively. Josh Albright closed out the smallbore team score with a 576, and Sarah Bergman fired a 583 in air rifle to close out the Mids' scoring in air rifle. As a team, Navy shot a 2322 in smallbore and a 2341 in air rifle.

Navy will close out its regular-season next week with its Star Meet against Army. Action will get underway in West Point at 8:00 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 19.
