Tampa Bay 4, Navy 2--Bottom 3rd
Tampa Bay scores four runs in the bottom of the second to take a 4-1 lead on RBI singles by Travis Lee, Jorge Cantu, Carl Crawford and Julio Lugo. All the runs came off Navy reliever Jeff Lange (Navy will be using seven different pitchers in this seven inning game).
The Mids came back in the top of the 3rd to score one run. Navy loaded the bases with no outs off Angel Garcia and then D.J. Faldowski drew a walk to make it 4-2. Garcia then worked himself out of the jam.
Of note, Navy is the first college team to score against Tampa Bay in three games. The last two college opponents they played they shutout, including the University of Miami in 2003. Tampa Bay is 6-0 all-time against college opponents.
