Baseball Swept by Buffalo in Three-Game Series

Annapolis, Md. - The Navy baseball team dropped the series finale to Buffalo Sunday, 8-0, and was swept in the three-game series by the Bulls over the weekend at Max Bishop Stadium.

Buffalo improved to 8-9, while the Mids dropped their 12th straight to fall to 3-15-1. It was the second-straight game Navy was shutout by the Bulls and the third time in the last four contests the Midshipmen have been held scoreless.

All eight of Buffalo's runs were unearned as Navy committed five errors.

Joe Mihalics scored three runs for Buffalo, while Phil Vanhorne and Dan Quinn each had a pair of hits. Chris McGraw (1-0) earned his first win of the season by going seven innings and scattering six hits with six strikeouts.

Navy was led by catcher Jonathan-Matthew Johnston (Hamilton Township, N.J.), who went 3-for-4. Classmate Jared Munde (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.) had two hits, including a triple.

Freshman Mitch Harris (Mt. Holly, N.C.) took the mound for his first start of the season and was saddled with the loss after going four innings and giving up four runs on six hits.

Navy will be back in action Tuesday as it plays host to Georgetown at 2:30 p.m., at Max Bishop Stadium.
