ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Breakdowns in several areas late in games led to a four-game loss for the Navy volleyball team against High Point, Saturday afternoon in the final match of the Trident Classic. The Panthers defeated the Midshipmen, 28-30, 30-28, 30-20, 30-23.

"We broke down mentally and physically in all areas of the game late in each of our three losses today," said Navy head coach Mike Schwob. "We looked tired out there, but we have to learn to fight through that to win as Niagara did against us Friday night."

An example of the late game trouble for Navy took place in game four when the Mids held a 22-19 lead, but then saw the Panthers score eight straight points before the Mids could manage a point of their own, then were shut out the remainder of the game.

Navy hit just .135 in the match to High Point's .241, while also recording 11 service errors, a pair of blocking errors and six ball handling errors.

Megan Boyd (Jr., Richmond, Va.) had a strong all-around game for Navy, totaling nine kills and just one error on 21 attempts for a .381 attack percentage, while also tallying seven digs and four blocks.

Navy will play Tuesday at Coppin State before traveling to Colorado Springs, Colo., to face both Air Force and The Citadel next weekend.
