NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Navy squash team (12-4) had split results Saturday in its matches against Bates and MIT at the Yale Round Robin. Twelfth-ranked Bates defeated the Mids, 7-2, before Navy, ranked No. 13, rebounded with a 9-0 sweep over MIT.

Senior Patrick Kruse (Annapolis, Md.) was one-of-two Midshipmen to turn in a 2-0 record in Saturday's action. Kruse claimed a 3-0 win over Bates' Guillermo Moronta at No. 9 before downing MIT's Saad Zaheer, 9-2, 9-6, 9-1 in the evening match. Meanwhile sophomore Brian Hamilton (Lake Forest, Ill.) also boasted a 2-0 record, picking up a 2-9, 10-9, 9-1, 9-3 triumph over Marc Taggart of Bates and a 3-0 victory over MIT's Christopher Buenrostro.

Navy's William Eucker (Denver, Colo.) and Dan Hellier (Modesto, Calif.) earned some valuable playing time in the nightcap versus MIT. Eucker put away David Baumgartner, 9-1, 9-0, 9-1, while Hellier produced a 9-2, 9-3, 9-0 win over Peter Clay.

Navy concludes action at the Yale Round Robin with a matchup against Colgate Sunday.
