LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell held Navy to a negative hitting percentage in two games as the Bison posted a three-game sweep over the Mids, Friday night in Lewisburg, Pa. The Bison improved to 4-2 in Patriot League matches following the 30-14, 30-27, 30-22 victory over the Mids (2-4).
"We started very slow both offensively and defensively tonight," said Navy head coach Mike Schwob. "We rebounded very well in game two and had a great opportunity to win the game, but were unable to close it out."
The match started with Bucknell quickly jumping out to a 13-4 lead in the opening game. The Bison would go on to hit a sizzling .400 in the frame, while holding Navy to a negative .071 attack percentage.
Game two was a different story with neither team able to establish any sizeable lead until Navy took a 26-21 advantage. From there, however, the Bison scored the next six points to take a 27-26 lead, then were able to close out the game to take a 2-0 lead.
That momentum carried over into the final game as the Bison scored seven of the first eight points in game three as Bucknell went on to close out the match.
Navy totaled 31 kills and 31 hitting errors on the night for a .000 attack percentage, while Bucknell hit .206 in the victory.

The Mids will remain on the road Saturday for a 7 p.m. match at Colgate.
