Navy Blasts Brown, 70-47

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - Freshman center Trey Stanton scored 16 points, and Navy won, 70-47, over Brown Tuesday.

Greg Sprink and Kaleo Kina added 10 points each for the Mids (2-1) who never trailed after jumping out to a 16-3 lead. The Mids made 13 of 29 three-pointers, tying the second most 3-pointers scored in a game in the team's history.

Eight players hit three-pointers for the Mids. Navy shot 66.7 percent (14 of 21) from the floor in the first half, including eight of 15 three-pointers, to build a 38-21 lead.

Though Navy cooled off in the second half to shoot just 54.3 percent for the game, the Mids ran their lead out to 55-26 with a 17-5 run to open the second half.

Keenan Jeppesen led Brown (0-3) with 14 points and Scott Friske added 12 points. Brown made just one of its first 9 shots and had just four field goals in the first half as compared to 12 free throws. The Bears finished the game with 13 field goals in 39 tries and 19 free throws.
