TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--Jared Munde collected five hits and drove in three runs as Navy (4-0-1) swept a doubleheader from Florida A&M (1-6) Sunday afternoon in Tallahassee. Navy took game one, 7-4, and hung on to win game two, 4-3.
The Mids collected 12 hits in game one, led by Munde's 4-4 performance. It was his third-career four-hit game. Leadoff hitter Renaldo Hollins went 2-3 with two stolen bases and a run scored, while Thomas Hamilton collected two hits.
Starter Mark McCoy (1-0) picked up the win, giving up two runs and five hits in five innings. He struck out seven. Joe Koessler picked up the save, going two innings and giving up one unearned run.
Ryan Heffner (1-0) picked up the win in game two, going the final five innings in relief and giving up three unearned runs. Heffner struck out six Rattlers, including the final batter of the game with the tying run on third base.
Munde drove in two runs with a single for the Mids, while Hamilton had two hits and Hollins had a base hit, two runs scored and a stolen base.
