LANCASTER, Pa. - The Navy squash team dropped a 6-3 decision at Franklin & Marshall Wednesday night, falling to 18-6 on the season. Despite the loss, Navy holds a 31-13 series advantage and has won six of the last eight meetings.
It was freshman vs. freshman at the No. 4 spot on the ladder as Navy's Alastair Smith (Hillsborough, N.J.) claimed a 3-0 win over Ry Hawley. At No. 5, senior Dhruv parashar (Singapore) produced a 9-7, 9-5, 9-6 triumph over F&M senior Ed Bryan. Navy earned its final win of the night at the No. 9 spot where sophomore Brian Hamilton (Lake Forest, Ill.) notched a 9-7, 9-5, 9-1 win over Evan Burton.
"We played a hard match tonight, but things just did not go our way," said Navy head coach Craig Dawson. "Tonight's match was a good tune-up for us in our preparation for the College Squash Association Team Championship."
The Mids will face Team Annapolis Saturday at 9 a.m. in an exhibition match before traveling to Princeton for the CSA Team Championship Feb. 17-19.
