ANNAPOLIS, Md.-The Navy football team is ranked 64th in the country by Lindy's Preseason Magazine. Four Navy opponents ranked higher than the Mids. Notre Dame was their selection as the number one team in the country, while Tulsa was ranked 27th, Rutgers was ranked 30th and Stanford was 61st.

Teams ranked behind Navy include Connecticut (84th), Air Force (91st), Duke (97th), East Carolina (98th), Army (99th), Eastern Michigan (115th) and Temple (119th).

Senior linebacker Rob Caldwell (St. John, Ind.) was ranked as the 19th best inside linebacker in the country. Patrick Willis of Mississippi was ranked number one.

Season tickets are currently on sale at the Naval Academy Box Office in Ricketts Hall, by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY or on-line at www.navysports.com. The Mids open up the 2006 campaign on Sept. 2 against East Carolina. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m.
