ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The No. 10 Navy squash team won three of the top-four spots on the ladder, but it wasn't enough as eighth-ranked Williams claimed victories in the final five matches to win the match, 6-3, Sunday afternoon at the Halsey Field House Squash Courts in Annapolis. Navy is now 10-4 on the year after dropping a pair of matches this week to top-10 ranked teams Penn and Williams.

Navy team captain Tucker George (West Hartford, Conn.), who is ranked 38th in the country, earned his eighth win of the season, easily getting past junior No. 1 player Jon Barry, ranked 40th, 10-8, 9-5, 9-6. Newcomer Nils Mattsson (Spring House, Pa.) improved to 9-4 on the year with a 9-7, 4-9, 9-3, 10-8 triumph over Tony Maruca, the 58th-ranked player in the nation, at the No. 2 flight. Junior Jeff Sawin (Haverford, Pa.) crushed Williams rookie Ethan Buchsbaum at the No. 4 spot, as Sawin earned a 9-4, 9-0, 9-4 victory.

Freshman Ben Mantica (Binghamton, N.Y.) took a 2-0 lead over Thomas Marshall at No. 6, but couldn't hang on, losing a heartbreaker in five, 7-9, 0-9, 9-4, 9-2, 9-5. Meanwhile, senior Dan Hellier (Modesto, Calif.) played a solid match for the Mids at No. 8, but dropped a 3-1 decision to second-year Williams standout Cameron Henry.

The Mids return to action Wednesday when they travel to Washington D.C. to battle George Washington. Action is set to begin at 5:00 pm.
