LEWISBURG, Pa.--Amanda Brown tied her career-high with 22 points, while Lauren Schober added 19 to lead Bucknell (9-7, 1-0 in the Patriot League) to a 67-47 victory over Navy (5-9, 0-1) in front of 412 fans at Sojka Pavilion in the Patriot League opener for both teams.

Carly Meyer led Navy with 18 points, but was held scoreless in the second half by the Bison defense. Navy committed 18 turnovers in the game, including 11 in the second half.

"Bucknell's pressure defense wore us down in the second half and we started turning the ball over," said Navy head coach Tom Marryott. "Our inability to take care of the basketball has hurt us all year and tonight Bucknell took advantage of our turnovers and turned them into easy baskets. It's hard to defend lay-ups."

The Mids trailed the Bison by just five at the half (34-29) thanks to Meyer, who was 5-11 from the floor, including 3-4 from behind the three-point arc, and made all five of her free throws. Meyer was 0-6 from the floor in the second half.

Navy trailed by just two points at 39-37 with 14:45 left in the contest when the Bison went on a 17-3 run over the next six minutes to put the game away. Brown and Schober combined for nine of those points in the run.

Margaret Knap added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Mids, while Kalen Kropa handed out five assists.
