BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Lehigh scored three second-half goals and held the Navy offense to just four shots to hand Navy a 3-0 setback in men's soccer action on Saturday night. The loss drops Navy's record to 5-3-1 overall and 0-2-0 in the Patriot League.
The first half was a defensive struggle on both sides, as Lehigh outshot the Mids, 4-1, and neither team recorded a corner kick in the opening 45 minutes.
The Mountain Hawks then got on the board just 5:25 into the second half, as Kyle Evans scored the first of his three goals on the evening, off a rebound shot by James Graf. Evans would tally goal number two on the evening in the 67th minute with an assist by Jim Taranto. Evans concluded the scoring with a penalty kick goal in the 85th minute.
Navy was outshot, 15-4, on the evening, and drew one corner kick to Lehigh's three. The Mountain Hawks were whistled for 12 fouls to Navy's eight. Evan Barnes (Dublin, Ohio) stopped a career-best seven shots in the loss.
