HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Colgate outhit the Navy volleyball team by 400 points (.512-.111) on its way to posting a 25-13, 25-14, 25-11 victory over the Midshipmen, Friday night in Hamilton, N.Y.

"We were flat tonight and Colgate was anything but flat," said Navy head coach Mike Schwob. "Colgate played great and we were a step behind them the entire night. We couldn't do anything to stop them on defense and they shut down everything we tried on offense."

Navy (13-7, 2-4 Patriot League) trailed Colgate (8-11, 3-4) by just three points at 13-10 midway through the opening set before the Raiders scored five of the next six points to take an 18-11 lead. After an Aubrey Manes (Jr., Pratt, Kan.) kill returned the serve to the Mids, the Raiders closed out the set with a 7-2 run.

The second set was very similar to the first. Navy trailed 9-8 before a 7-1 run gave Colgate a 16-9 lead, an advantage that quickly expanded to as many as 11 points at 24-13.

The Raiders quickly scored four of the opening five points of the third set and soon built a double-digit lead at 15-5 before closing out the match with the 25-11 victory.

Colgate enjoyed huge advantages in hitting percentages in each of the three sets. The Raiders tallied marks of .700, .412 and .500 in the three respective sets, while the Mids posted percentages of .107, .143 and .083. Colgate grabbed 51 digs in the match to Navy's 25, while also recording 5.0 team blocks to Navy's 2.0.

Colgate's Kaylee Dougherty and Katrina Zawojski both knocked down 13 kills in the match, with Jessie Sims (Sr., Etowah, N.C.) leading Navy with eight kills.

The Mids now travel to Lewisburg, Pa., for a Saturday evening match at Bucknell.
