Armed Forces Appreciation Week Culminates With Tripleheader

CBS College Sports Network, the broadcast home of Service Academy football, salutes our nation's Armed Forces and service academy football teams, including a tripleheader of games on Saturday, Oct. 10 - Vanderbilt at Army (12:00 NOON, ET), Navy at Rice (3:30 PM, ET) and *No. 10-ranked TCU at Air Force (7:30 PM, ET). The tripleheader marks the first time a Network has broadcast all three service academy games live in one day.

CBS College Sports Network kicks off the day with a special one-hour (11:00 AM - 12:00 NOON, ET) "SALUTE TO THE ARMED FORCES" pre-game show. Adam Zucker hosts, along with analyst Brian Jones. The show includes an interview via satellite from Afghanistan with Lieutenant General David Rodriguez, who oversees the day-to-day coalition operations in Afghanistan. He is a West Point graduate and also the father of current Army linebacker Andy Rodriguez. Also from Afghanistan will be a satellite interview with Air Force Academy graduate Colonel Scott Russi, the Chief Trauma Surgeon for the 452nd Combat Support Hospital Forward Operating Base. Army Cadet Tyler Gordy, the U.S. Military Academy's First Captain joins for the pre-game show and for half-time of Army's game. The show also include features on Navy quarterback Ricky Dobbs, former Air Force fullback Charles "Spanky" Gilliam and a historical look at great Army teams of the past

Dave Ryan and Jason Sehorn call the action for Vanderbilt at Army. General David H. Petraeus, the commander of the U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and U.S. Military Academy Superintendent Lieutenant General Franklin L. Hagenbeck will visit the broadcast booth during the game.

CBS Sports' golf analyst/on-course reporter David Feherty joins the Network's broadcast team of Jason Knapp and analyst Akbar Gbaja-Biamila for the Navy at Rice game. Feherty will conduct interviews with Midshipman First Class Ryan Steenberge, Brigade Commander, U.S. Naval Academy, Rice Head Coach David Bailiff, who traveled to Iraq this past summer, Navy Head Coach Ken Niumatalolo and the parents of Navy defensive team captain Ross Pospisil and Navy offensive team captain Osei Asante.

Tom Hart and Aaron Taylor call the action from Colorado Springs, Colo. for *No. 10-ranked TCU at Air Force. Coverage includes an interview with Air Force Academy Superintendent Lieutenant General Michael C. Gould.

On Friday, Oct. 9 (7:00 PM - 7:30 PM, ET), CBS College Sports Network debuts an original 30-minute special, INSIDE ACADEMY FOOTBALL, which chronicles the daily routines of football players from each service academy, exploring how their sport intersects, enriches and informs their lives as officers-in-training for the United States military.
