PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Navy's Ben Nicholas (So., Bothell, Wash.) closed out his efforts at the NCAA Zone `A' Diving Meet by finishing in seventh place on the platform event Sunday at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center in Piscataway, N.J.

Nicholas, the 2010 Patriot League Diver of the Year, stood in sixth place after the six-dive preliminary round of competition with 261.75 points. He would end the day with a 12-dive score of 487.10 points.

"I'm proud of Ben," said Navy head coach Joe Suriano. "He looked good out there. His dives were strong, so we now need to incorporate a higher degree of difficulty to his list. That will give him the opportunity to score more points and finish higher in the standings."

Virginia Tech's Logan Shinholser won the platform competition with 702.65 points.
