ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy won all nine matches en route to sweeping past Patriot League foe Lafayette, 7-0, to complete its weekend sweep of the Lehigh Valley schools.

Navy improved to 9-3 overall with the win and to 2-1 in the Patriot League. Navy won its first Patriot League match in school history on Friday against Lehigh, then won its second straight match on Saturday with its blanking of Lafayette. The Midshipmen have now won six of their last seven matches overall.

Lafayette fell to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in the Patriot League.

"It was a great performance today. We had great energy and focus. It would have been easy to have a little bit of a let down after the match yesterday against Lehigh, but we really came out firing today," said Navy head coach Keith Puryear.

Navy won the doubles point, by capturing all three doubles matches, allowing just eight games won by the Leopards.

Brittney Boucher and Emani Decquir held Caitlin Gordon and Kelsey Grad without a game in sweeping past the Lafayette duo, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles.

Freshmen Dye Das and Stefanie Ton cruised past Emily DeLuca and Rachel Rohinsky, 8-1, at No. 2 doubles. The Midshipmen then completed the doubles sweep with a tiebreaking victory at No. 3 doubles by Julie Dias and Lindsay Olsen, 8-7 (3), over Kristie Cavanagh and Katherine Charchalis.

Navy then won all six singles matches, as five of the six Midshipmen players held their foes to win four or fewer total games.

Decquir defeated Grad, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles for her 14th victory of the season. Boucher bested Gordon, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 singles to push her dual-meet record to 10-2 this spring.

Ton then won at No. 3 singles over Rohinsky, 6-2, 6-1, to improve her spring record to 9-3. Das was victorious at No. 4 singles over DeLuca, 6-0, 6-4, for her 12th victory of the year.

Freshmen Natalie Houle defeated Charchalis, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 singles, for her 10th victory of the season and Lindsay Olsen completed the Navy sweep with a 7-6 (3), 6-2, triumph over Cavanagh at No. 6 singles.

"I loved the way we came out in doubles and that momentum carried over into the singles," said Puryear. "Lafayette is a really solid team, but we just did not allow them many opportunities today."

Navy will step out of conference play on Wednesday with a non-conference tilt against Goucher College, beginning at 3:00 pm on Wednesday. The Mids will then head to Holy Cross and Bryant next weekend.
