Navy Men's Soccer Game With La Salle Postponed

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's soccer game with La Salle was postponed due to lightning with 14:13 remaining in the first half. The stats and result does not count from the contest, as 70 minutes is needed to be played to make it an official game.

The Explorers led 1-0, before a severe thunderstorm moved into the area, postponing the game at 7:35 pm. Lightning was spotted about six miles away at 7:35, and heavy rain and gusty winds moved into the area at 8:15 pm. The game was then called at 8:55 pm with lightning still in the region.

No make-up date has been determined yet.

Navy will open Patriot League play on Saturday night against Army in the annual Star Game. Kick-off is slated for 7:00 pm from West Point, N.Y. Live video ($10.95) and live stats will be available on links on NavySports.com(.)
