New Haven, Conn. - The No. 15 Navy (18-5) men's squash team split a pair of matches on Saturday in New Haven, Conn. The Mids blanked No. 32 MIT, 9-0, but fell to No. 2 Yale, 9-0. The Mids made quick work of MIT, winning every game in three sets, but hit a wall against a tough Yale squad that featured four players ranked in the top-35.

Navy senior Allan Lutz (McLean, Va.), ranked No. 89 in the country, picked up an 11-4, 11-7, 11-7 over West Hubbard of MIT in the No. 1 slot to set the tone for Navy in its first match of the day. Lutz now has 91 career wins, one shy of Nils Mattsons' 92 victories for the most all-time during the coach Craig Dawson era. Lutz is a team-best 18-4 on the season.

Freshman Hunter Beck (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) earned an 11-6, 11-4, 11-3 decision over Austin Anderson of MIT in the No. 4 position. Beck is ranked No. 112 and holds a season record of 17-4.

Sophomore Billy Abrams (Wilmington, Del.) cruised to a win in the No. 3 hole against MIT. Abrams swept Mick Zomnir, 11-4, 11-2, 11-4 to move to avenge a five-set defeat against Columbia on Friday night.

Sophomore Hunter Bouchard (Greenville, Del.) defeated MIT's John Kucharczyk, 11-2, 11-7, 11-3 at No. 3 and sophomore John Richey (West Hartford, Conn.) knocked off Abhi Mitra at No. 5, 11-5, 11-1, 11-6.

Senior Tommy McNamara (New York, N.Y.) got the win at No. 6, defeating Joey Lemberg, 11-7, 11-8, 11-7. Senior Aidan Crofton was victorious in the No. 8 position as he bested Connor Kirschbaum, 11-5, 11-7, 11-3.

Yale, however, proved to be too much for Navy. The Bulldogs won each game in straight sets. Navy sophomore David Koenig (Cincinnati, Ohio) had the most competitive match against Yale. Koenig was in each set, but fell to Sam Haig at No. 8, 12-10, 13-11, 11-9.

Navy's final match of the weekend will be against No. 24 Colby on Sunday at 9 am.
