ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy's Olaf Olson (Sr., Bainbridge Island, Wash.) punched his ticket for the NCAA Diving Championship with a third-place showing in the three-meter springboard event Saturday at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis during the NCAA Zone `A' Meet.

Olson tallied 718.30 points over the course of his 12 dives to place third behind the Virginia Tech tandem of Logan Shinholser (790.05) and Ryan Hawkins (727.15). Only the top-two divers on the three meter advance to the NCAA Championship, but with Hawkins winnign Friday's one-meter event Olson moves up to receive the second invitation.

The three-day meet will come to a conclusion Sunday at Noon with platform diving.
