Baseball Travels to Mount St. Mary's On Wednesday

The Navy baseball team, which has won four of its last five games, will travel to Emmitsburg, Md., on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. to take on Mount St. Mary's. The game will serve as a final non-league tune-up for the Midshipmen, which begin Patriot League play at Lehigh this weekend.

Midweek Quick Hitters
• Navy enters Wednesday's matchup at 4-1 in its last five games and 8-3 in its last 11.
• Navy has gone 12-5-1 in the month of March as four of its five losses have been by only one or two runs...Navy has not lost consecutive games in the month.
• Sophomore infielder Greg Dupell was named Patriot League Player of the Week on Monday...Dupell had multiple hits in all three victories over Princeton last weekend and hit .438 in the four-game series...He went 6-for-11, had six RBIs and stole three bases in the three wins over the Tigers.
• As of Monday, Navy's team ERA of 5.72 was tops in the conference...The Navy pitching staff's 7.65 strikeouts-per-game average was also best in the Patriot League.
• Though his .381 batting average ranks second in the Patriot League through 105 at-bats, junior Alex Azor's has 25 more at-bats than any other player currently ranking in the top five in the conference in batting average.
• Through 25 games, Navy already has 15 triples - just two fewer than it had in all of 2010...Brandon Beans leads the conference in triples with four.
• Junior Dave Milanes leads the Patriot League in RBIs with 25...Milanes had a career-best four RBIs in Sunday's loss to Princeton.
• Joel Rinehart picked up two saves last weekend and now has three on the season and a career total of six, which moved him into a fifth-place tie on Navy's all-time saves list...Rinehart is currently holding opponents to a .208 batting average, which is tops in the league.
• Senior Nick Driscoll enters Wednesday's game with a career-best seven-game hitting streak...Driscoll is currently hitting .277 with 11 RBIs.

About Mount St. Mary's
Mount St. Mary's enters is game on Tuesday against UMBC at 7-12 on the season... The Mount went 0-4 in its NEC series against Quinnipiac at home this past weekend...Prior to Tuesday's game with UMBC, the only common opponent between the Mount and Navy was Yale, which defeated Mount St. Mary's, 7-4, on March 7...Mount St. Mary's is currently hitting .290 as a team, led by Zach Helman's .415 batting average...The pitching staff has an ERA of 5.15 with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 1.35...The Mount has won each of its last two meetings with Navy.

The Midshipmen will open Patriot League play when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to meet Lehigh. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Saturday at 12 p.m.
