ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Rookie Hunter Abrams (Wilmington, Del.) won his seventh-consecutive match to guide the 15th-ranked Navy squash team to a pair of wins over Bowdoin and Colby to open the second half of the Mids' schedule.

Navy opened the weekend on Friday evening traveling to Brunswick, Maine to play rival Bowdoin. While two of the nine matches were decided in lengthy matches, the Mids easily swept the 20th-ranked Polar Bears on their home floor, 9-0. Navy made the drive to Waterville, Maine on Saturday morning where it met 23rd-ranked Colby and scored an 8-1 victory.

Eight of the nine players on the ladder produced 2-0 records during what will be a three-stop tour in Maine, including Abrams, who captured an 11-6, 11-7, 11-4 win over Bowdoin's Reid Wilson and followed up with another 3-0 sweep over Nat Cooper from Colby. Abrams, who was unable to compete until mid-November due to an injury, pushed up from the No. 9 slot to the No. 4 position for the Mids this weekend. He now stands 7-0 on the year.

Meanwhile, junior Hunter Bouchard (Greenville, Del.) snapped a four-match skid on Friday evening behind a 3-1 victory over Bowdoin's Barrett Takesian at the No. 2 position. Bouchard dropped the opening game, 11-9, but bounced back to take the match with consecutive wins. Bouchard, however, fell short in his match against Colby's Will Sullivan, giving up a 2-1 advantage in a five-game loss.

Also snapping a four-match losing streak was senior captain John Tracey (Owings Mills, Md.), who pitched back-to-back victories with sweeps over Bowdoin's Max Bearse and Colby's Peter Gabranski.

Meanwhile, junior Billy Abrams (Wilmington, Del.) improved to 11-1 on the year by way of 3-0 victories over Will Winmill of Bowdoin and Stephen Carroll of Colby.

Also winning a pair of matches this weekend were freshmen Andrew McGuinness (Merion Station, Pa.) at No. 1, Jim Kacergis (Malvern, Pa.) at No. 3, Colin Barry (St. Louis, Mo.) at No. 5, junior John Richey (West Hartford, Conn.) at No. 8 and sophomore Hunter Beck (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) at No. 9.

The Mids will close out action in the Pine Tree State on Saturday with a 4:00 pm match at 19th-ranked Bates.
