ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Senior midfielder Martin Sanchez (Salisbury, Md.) has been named the NAAA Athlete of the Week presented by Rolls-Royce for his play in two Navy men's soccer victories last week.

Sanchez scored three points on a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over Loyola. He scored in the first half and then assisted on Derek Vogel's (Long Beach, Calif.) game-winner in the second. Sanchez also helped Navy post a 2-1 win over Lehigh.

The win over Loyola clinched the Patriot League Regular Season title for Navy (12-2-3, 8-0-0), its first since 1991. The win was also Navy's 11th-straight victory, the longest active winning streak in the nation.

Sanchez has 10 points on one goal and eight assists this season. The eight assists lead the Patriot League, rank 12th in the nation and are tied for the third-most in a single season at Navy.

Navy will next face Army in the Star Game at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. on Friday at 7:00 PM.
