Melvin Gordon, University of Wisconsin, Junior, RB, Kenosha, Wis.
Gordon rushed the ball 25 times for a Football Bowl Subdivision record, 408 yards, including four touchdowns, in Wisconsin's victory over Nebraska on Saturday. The junior back had four carries of at least 40 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Defensive Player of the Week
Joe Schobert, University of Wisconsin, Junior, LB, Waukesha, Wis.
Schobert racked up 11 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery to help Wisconsin to a 59-24 win over Nebraska. The junior led the way as the Badgers held the Huskers to 180 yards of offense, more than 300 yards below their average entering the contest
Special Teams Player of the Week
Grebe drilled all seven of his point-after attempts, while also making his only field goal attempt from 36 yards in Navy's 52-19 victory over Georgia Southern. Grebe also made two tackles in kickoff coverage.
Rookie of the Week
Josh Hicks, Rutgers University, Freshman, RB, Palmetto, Fla.
Hicks rushed 20 times for 114 yards and a touchdown in Rutgers' 45-23 win over Indiana on Saturday.
