Nov. 21, 2014 ANNAPOLIS, Md.-The 26 seniors on the Navy football team received their Service Assignments yesterday in a ceremony at the Naval Academy. Fourteen seniors will be commissioned 2nd Lieutenants in the Marine Corps, while 12 will be Ensigns in the United States Navy.

Navy's senior class has compiled a record of 27-21 (.563), won two Commander-In-Chief's Trophies, gone to two bowl games (with a chance to go to a third bowl game this year), won a bowl game (with a chance to win a second this year), and owns a 3-0 record against Army (with a chance to go 4-0 on Dec. 13).
Navy travels to Mobile, Ala., next Friday (Nov. 28) to take on South Alabama in a 2 PM contest (local time, 3 PM in Annapolis). The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and the Navy Radio Network. A victory over South Alabama would guarantee Navy a bowl bid for the 11th time in the last 12 years. Navy already has a spot lined up in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, which will be played Dec. 23 in San Diego.
