ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy squash team (4-0) opened its season Friday evening with a 9-0 victory over Fordham and tacked on three more wins on Saturday, scoring 9-0 sweeps against Dickinson, Siena and Boston University at the Navy Round Robin held at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts and the Bancroft Hall Squash Courts at the Naval Academy.

Navy rotated its lineup throughout the four matches, utilizing 11 players among the nine-man ladder. Senior John Hsu (Jackson Heights, N.Y.), sophomores Randy Beck (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) and Will Walker (Scarborough, N.Y.) and freshman Josh Hughes (Malvern, Pa.) appeared in and won all four matches played, while five other players put together 3-0 marks.

Hughes earned his first collegiate victory on Friday as the No. 5 player, defeating Fordham's Alex LaVersa, 11-0, 11-4, 11-2, while fellow rookie Jack Herold (Chicago, Ill.) picked up an 11-3, 11-5, 12-10 win over Jeremy Keller to also score his first win.

Senior team captain Andrew McGuinness (Merion Station, Pa.) played the No. 1 position in three matches and earned his 60th career victory thanks to an 11-2, 11-1, 11-3 win over Boston University senior Chaiyatat Bunjapamai.

McGuinness' classmate, Jim Kacergis (Malvern, Pa.), is on track to earn his 60th career win on Sunday. Kacergis won all three of his matches, including an 11-2, 11-4, 11-3 win over Dickinson's Nick Struzenski at the No. 1 slot.

The Mids will close out tournament action on Sunday when they face Johns Hopkins at 9:00 am and Minnesota at 11:30 am.
