Bottini, however, fell out of the tournament in the consolation quarters with a 3-1 loss to MIT's Tyler Finkelstein.

He came back to post an 11-5, 11-2, 11-7 victory over Penn's Liam Quinn in the second round consolations. However, Bates' Darius Campbell collected his second win of the tournament over a Navy player, scoring a 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 10-12, 12-10 win over Kacergis in the consolation quarterfinals to eliminate the Navy junior from the competition.

"I think Jim, Andrew and Mitch gained a greater appreciation for how tough the competition is at the College Squash Association Individual Championship, but I thought we gave a good effort and it was a good opportunity for each of them. We look forward to working in the off-season and improving upon our record and placement this year."
