Box Score Oct. 7, 2015

Box Score

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Three different players scored goals as the Navy men's soccer team (5-4-1, 2-0-0 PL) remained unbeaten in Patriot League play with a 3-1 win over visiting Lehigh (6-4-1, 1-2-0 PL) on Wednesday evening at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.

Navy is now 17-1-2 in Patriot League Regular Season matches over the last three years.

Navy opened the scoring in the 29th minute when the freshman duo Matt McCraith and Elijah Kilmer connected for a goal. After a failed Lehigh clear, Kilmer sent a pass to McCraith, who chipped a ball from the top of the left side of the penalty box to the right post for his first career goal.

Senior forward Jamie Dubyoski made a great individual effort just before halftime, fighting through the Lehigh defense and then drilling a shot to the right side of the goal.

"I got a touch and I thought the center back was going to clear it out but he fell over," said Dubyoski. "So I took a look up and saw the goalie cheating back post so I put it near post."

Dubyoski scored in his first game back after missing seven games with an injury. Dubyoski is the 2015 Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and is on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.

"It felt great [to get back on the field]," said Dubyoski. "It's been tough [to be out], but it's been good to see the game from a different perspective and see how other guys play when I was on the sidelines."

Navy went up 3-0 in the 59th minute off a free kick goal by sophomore Daniel Zaremba. After a quick tap-tap combo from Derek Vogel and Sam Bascom, Zaremba fired a left-footed shot through the Lehigh wall for his second tally of the season.

Lehigh scored its lone goal in the 74th minute when Alex Greene assisted Mark Forrest for his fifth goal of the year.

Senior goalkeeper Jackson Morgan matched his career-high total of seven saves to earn his fifth win of the season. Morgan survived a barrage of Lehigh shots in the 70th minute by making three-straight saves. Joe Bogan made four saves for Lehigh.

Navy outshot Lehigh, 17-15, in the contest and Zaremba took a game-high five shots.

Navy improves its all-time series lead over Lehigh to 31-18-8.

Navy will next play at Holy Cross (3-3-4, 1-0-2 PL) on Saturday at 7:00 PM.
