The Navy football team, coming off a 55-14 victory over SMU, is 19^th in both the Associated Press and Amway Coaches Poll.  It is Navy’s highest ranking since Oct. 22, 1979 when the Mids were ranked 17^th after starting 6-0. 

 

Houston is the only other American Athletic Conference team that is ranked. The Cougars (10-0) are ranked 13^th in the AP poll and 14^th in the coaches poll.

 

Navy is off to an 8-1 start for the first time since 1963 and are 6-0 in the American Athletic Conference and tied for first with Houston.  The Mids play at Houston on Friday, Nov. 27 for the West Division crown regardless of what happens this weekend.

 

The Mids will travel to Tulsa on Saturday to take on the Golden Hurricane (5-5) in a 7:00 PM (ET)/6:00 PM (CT) game that will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network. Navy would host the American Athletic Conference championship game with wins over Tulsa and Houston.
