Nov. 16, 2015 Navy senior quarterback Keenan Reynolds earned numerous honors on Monday after his five-touchdown performance in Navy's 55-14 victory over SMU on Saturday. Reynolds set the NCAA record for career rushing touchdowns on Navy's first possession of the game when he scored from four yards out and went on to score three more times as he finished with 137 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 14 carries while throwing for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Reynolds was named a "Great 8" performer by the Davey O'Brien Award as determined by the award's selection subcommittee. The eight honorees include: Washington State's Luke Falk, Quinton Flowers of USF, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, Nick Mullens of Southern Miss, Houston's Kyle Postma, Keenan Reynolds of Navy, Michigan's Jake Rudock and Deshaun Watson of Clemson. Three of this week's "Great 8" performers (Falk, Reynolds and Watson) are semifinalists for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.
Reynolds was also named a Manning Award Star of the Week. The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, has named eight quarterbacks as its "Stars of the Week." College football fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Thursday 12 noon the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.
Reynolds was also named the Naval Academy Athletic Association Athlete of the Week and was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll. Marlon Mack of USF was named the Offensive Player of the Week.
