ANNAPOLIS, Md. - No. 16 Navy (14-4) suffered its fourth straight loss to a top-11 opponent this season, as the ninth-ranked Drexel Dragons (6-2) posted an 8-1 victory over the Mids Saturday afternoon at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts.
Rookie Dylan Sweeney (New York, N.Y.) improved to 14-3 on the year after scoring the Mids' lone victory against the Dragons. Sweeney dropped the opening game of his match against Drexel senior Mark Kauf, but rallied to win the next three, 11-7, 12-10, 11-6, to take the victory.
The Mids lost four matches by 3-1 decisions, including the top two spots on the ladder occupied by sophomore Jack Herold (Chicago, Ill.) and freshman Senen Ubina (Greenwich, Conn.).
Navy will step away from the competition courts for the remainder of the month, returning to action on Jan. 6 when the Mids play host to defending National Champion Trinity.
