HARTFORD Conn. - A day after dropping a 7-2 decision to 11th-seeded Dartmouth at the College Squash Association Championship at Trinity College, the Mids were dealt a second blow when they lost a 6-3 match to 15th-seeded George Washington. It was the first loss by Navy in a series that has seen the two programs meet 24 times.

Sophomore Reed Whitney (Ladue, Mo.) continued to shine at the tournament as he picked up his second win in as many days with an 11-6, 11-3, 11-6 win over Josh Marks at the No. 8 position. Whitney also posted a 3-2 win over Reid Breck during the regular season to record a 2-0 mark against the Colonials this season.

Meanwhile, freshman Josh Hughes (Malvern, Pa.) earned his first collegiate win at the CSA Team Championship behind a 3-1 victory over Oisin Logan at the No. 2 slot. Like Whitney, Hughes also won his regular-season match by way of a 3-2 decision over Andrew de Frutos.

Sophomore Randy Beck (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) improved to 3-2 in matches at the CSA Team Championship thanks to a hard-fought 3-2 win over Billy Berner. The two traded victories with Beck winning the first and third matches before sealing the victory in the fifth with a 13-11 win.

Four of the Mids' six losses were in four games.

Navy will close out action at the CSA Team Championship on Sunday when it battles 13th-seeded Williams at 1:00 pm. The Mids defeated the Ephs in mid-January, 6-3, in Annapolis. Williams lost a 6-3 decision to No. 12 Drexel in the championship opener and a 5-4 match to 16th-seeded Bates on Saturday morning.
