HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The Navy men's golf team shot a 24-over par 312 in Sunday's final round to place sixth at the 2015 Patriot League Championship held at the Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y. The Mids shot rounds of 299, 302 and 312 to finish with a 49-over par 913.
Loyola was crowned the Patriot League Champion for the second straight year and was the lone team to finish the tournament under par at -2 (287-281-294 = 862). Four of the Greyhounds' six players finished among the top 10, including Matt Oshrine who claimed individual medalist honors with a 1-under par 215 (72-70-73). Teammate Jeremy Wall was just a stroke behind in second at 216 (78-66-72).
Army (295-282-291) shot the low round on Sunday with a 3-over par 291, but finished second with a 4-over par 868. Colgate (292-298-306) and Lafayette (297-292-307) tied for third with a 32-over par 896, followed by Lehigh (303-312-294 = 909) in fifth, Navy in sixth, Bucknell (311-305-313 = 929) in seventh and Holy Cross (326-324-315 - 965) in eighth.
The Midshipmen began the day in fifth, 11 strokes behind the host Raiders. Navy, though, struggled to find its stroke and dropped a spot in the final standings.
Senior Bryce Keene (Bakersfield, Calif.) paced Navy with a 13-over par 229 (74-75-80) to place 19th, while sophomore Devin Terry (La Crosse, Wis.) shot the low round (76) of the day for the Mids to tie for 22nd with a 15-over par 231 (76-79-76).
Team captain August Jonas (Jacksonville, Fla.) finished outside of the top 20 at the Patriot League Championship for the first time in his career, turning in a 16-over par 232 (73-74-85) to place 26th. Â
Sophomore Connor Tallman (Lake Oswego, Ore.) was 32nd with a 19-over par 235 (76-80-79), freshman Thomas Fricke (Haymarket, Va.) tied for 33rd with a 20-over par 236 (78-78-80) and rookie Eric Terminello (White Plains, N.Y.) finished 36th with a 22-over par 238 (86-75-77).
