Senior quarterback
Keenan Reynolds scored an American Athletic Conference record five rushing touchdowns in last week's win over East Carolina.
Setting the Stage • Navy (2-0) will play its first road game of the year when it travels to East Hartford, Conn. on Saturday to take on the UConn Huskies (2-1) in an American Athletic Conference contest. Kickoff is slated for 12 noon at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field (40,642).
• Navy is looking for its first 3-0 start under head coach
Ken Niumatalolo and the program's first 3-0 start since 2006. The Mids won their first three contests in 2006 en route to a 9-4 record, won the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy and played Boston College in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.
• The Mids enter Saturday's contest having won six straight and eight of their last nine dating back to last year. Navy has not won seven in a row since 1978-79. The Mids won the final two games of the 1978 season (Army and BYU) before winning the first six games of the 1979 season. That 1979 team, however, would win just one of its final five contests.
• Navy's six-game winning streak is tied for the fifth longest in the country with Clemson and NC State. Ohio State has the longest winning streak at 16 games, while TCU has won 11 straight, Memphis has won 10 in a row and Michigan State has won seven consecutive games.
• Senior quarterback
Keenan Reynolds has scored 70 career touchdowns (all rushing), the most in NCAA history by a quarterback and the most by any player in school history. The 70 career rushing touchdowns are the fourth most in NCAA history among all players for rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns. His 3,349 career rushing yards are the third most in school history.
• Saturday's game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network with Dave Ryan, Corey Chavous and Lauren Gardner on the call.
• The Navy Football Tailgate Show on WNAV 1430 AM / 99.9 FM will air at 10:00 AM.
• The Navy Football Pregame Show with Pete Medhurst,
Omar Nelson and Joe Miller will get underway at 11:00 AM, followed by game action beginning at 12:00 PM on the Navy Radio Network.
• Following the contest, Medhurst, Nelson and Miller will recap the day's events in a 30-minute postgame show.
Scouting UConn • The Huskies are off to an impressive 2-1 start with victories over FCS power Villanova, 20-15, and Army West Point, 22-17, before losing a 9-6 heartbreaker at Missouri last weekend.
• The UConn defense has been stifling, giving up just 13.7 points per game and allowing just 126.3 yards per game on the ground.
• Junior Joseph leads the defense with 23 tackles, while Andrew Adams has 17 tackles and two interceptions.
• Ron Johnson has rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns on 55 carries, while quarterback Bryant Shirreffs is the second-leading rusher with 93 yards rushing.
• Shirreffs has completed 48 of his 71 pass attempts for 628 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Noel Thomas (14 catches for 208 yards) and Tyraiq Beals (seven catches for 69 yards) are his favorite targets.
• UConn head coach Bob Diaco has faced the option several times in the past when he was the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame and he had his Huskies on point in their win over Army West Point, holding the Black Knights to just nine first downs and 180 yards rushing.

The Rush For 300 • Navy has rushed for more than 300 yards in 17 of its last 22 games.
Never Give In • Dating back to last year, the Navy defense has allowed just four touchdowns on the Mids' last 19 turnovers.
Keep The Ball, Win The Game • Navy is 13-1 (.929) over the last four years when winning the turnover battle.
Forcing Turnovers • The Navy defense has forced at least one turnover in nine straight games (16 turnovers total, 10 interceptions and six fumbles).
Fumble!! • Navy recovered two fumbles in its season-opening victory against Colgate (off three Raider fumbles) and recovered another fumble against East Carolina. Navy recovered just five fumbles all of last year.
