Oct. 17, 2016 BEALLSVILLE, Md. - The Navy men's golf team will head into the final round of the 12-team, 54-hole Georgetown Intercollegiate in ninth place after putting together rounds of 298 and 292 (590, +22) on Monday at the The Members Club at Four Streams.
Three Notre Dame players are among the top 10, including individual leader Ben Albin (134, -8), as the Irish are pacing the field with an 8-under par 560 (284-276). Meanwhile, the host Hoyas (287-277=564) are just four strokes behind in second and Eastern Michigan (284-283=567) is seven strokes back in third.
Albin and Temple's Trey Wren shot a 5-under par 66 in the opening round, tying the competitive course record at Four Streams.
Team captain Connor Tallman (Lake Oswego, Ore.) was the Mids' low scorer on the day after shooting par in the final round. He finished the 36 holes 4-over (75-71=146) in 27th. Classmate Devin Terry (Sr. / La Crosse, Wis.) stands 37th with a 7-over par 149 (76-73), followed by Matthew Starobin (So. / Davidsonville, Md.) in 45th (74-77=151), Eric Terminello (Jr. / White Plains, N.Y.) in 52nd (84-71=155) and Thomas Fricke (Jr. / Haymarket, Va.) in 60th (73-85=158). Meanwhile, Ben Allen (Sr. / San Marino, Calif.) is participating as an individual, shooting a 15-over par 157 (78-79) to sit in 57th.
The final round of the Georgetown Intercollegiate is set for Tuesday at 8:30 am.
