Will Worth Named NAAA Athlete Of The Week

Nov. 23, 2016
Senior quarterback Will Worth has been named the NAAA Athlete of the Week for his performance in Navy's 66-31 victory over East Carolina. Worth rushed for 159 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries, while completing three of his five pass attempts for 113 yards as Navy clinched the AAC West Division title. It was the third time this year and second-consecutive game that Worth has ran and pass for more than 100 yards in a game.
Worth has rushed for three or more touchdowns in four of the last five games and has six-straight 100-yard rushing games, which is tied for the second-longest streak in school history. He has a rushing touchdown in all 10 games this year, which is the longest streak in the country and is the second longest streak in school history. He is just the fifth player in school history (has happened six times, Keenan Reynolds did it twice) to rush and throw for 1,000 yards in a season. Over the last six games, Worth has rushed for 905 yards and 17 touchdowns, while throwing for 732 yards and six touchdowns.
Navy (8-2, 6-1 in the AAC) travels to Dallas on Saturday to take on the SMU Mustangs (5-6, 3-4 in the AAC) in a 3:30 PM kick on ESPNU and the Navy Radio Network. Navy will host the AAC Championship game next Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (12 noon) with a win and a Temple win over East Carolina or a USF loss to UCF.
