Brady Dove won 25 of the 36 draws he took in wins last week over Lafayette and Lehigh.

Brady Dove (Stevensville, Md.) has been honored by the Patriot League as its faceoff specialist of the week. In addition to Dove, Boston University's Cal Dearth (offense) and Loyola's Foster Huggins (defense), Jacob Stover (goalkeeper) and Pat Spencer (rookie) were among those players recognized by the league office on Monday as players of the week at their respective positions.
Dove played a pivotal role in providing Navy the offensive possessions necessary to extend its winning streak to four in a row after defeating Lafayette and Lehigh last week. Three days after becoming the program's all-time leader in faceoff wins, Dove won 11 of 17 draws (.647) against Lafayette and followed up by winning 14 of the 19 faceoffs (.737) he took on Saturday at Lehigh. In what was his fourth career appearance against the Mountain Hawks, he has now won 56 of the 81 draws (.691) he has taken against Lehigh.
Having won 82 of the 137 faceoffs he has taken this season, Dove stands 17th on Navy's single-season leader board and is the only player in school history whose name appears three times on the top 20 list (#2 with 163 in 2014, #5 with 147 in 2015, #17 with 82 in 2016). Meanwhile, he is only eight wins away from becoming the only player in Navy history to reach 400 career faceoff wins.
Dove, meanwhile, pushed up this week in the national standings for both faceoff winning percentage (#17 with .599) and ground balls per game (#15 with 5.50). Over the course of two games, he grabbed 16 ground balls including 11 against Lehigh. It marked the most ground balls by a Navy player this year, the second most in Dove's career and tied as the 10th most in program history. He is one of just four players in Navy history to amass 200 or more ground balls and trails third-place Steve Looney (2003-06) by just two with 205. He needs 18 more to pass current record holder William Wallace who grabbed 222 from 2004-07.
The Mids (6-2, 4-1 Patriot League) will be back in action on Saturday when they play host to Holy Cross (1-8, 0-4 PL) at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium beginning at 12:00 pm. The contest will be streamed live via PatriotLeague.TV, while Pete Medhurst and Joe Miller will also call the action on 1430 AM / 99.9 FM WNAV and 1500 WFED.
