ANNAPOLIS, Md. - After playing four straight home games, the Navy men's soccer team (1-4-0) will play at Duquesne (1-4-0) on Saturday at 7:00 PM at Rooney Field. Live statistics and free live video will be available.
Navy is coming off a 3-1 loss to George Washington on Wednesday. Navy scored the game's first goal, but the Colonials rallied with three goals in the final 18 minutes, including two goals in a span of 17 seconds.
Navy has scored four goals in its last two games, which included a 3-1 win over James Madison on Sept. 9. Senior forward Daniel Zaremba has scored twice in the last two games, while senior midfielder Aubrey Jones and freshman forward Nicko West have also tallied goals.
Zaremba leads Navy in goals (2) and points (4) this season. He is also Navy's active career leader in goals (8), assists (5) and points (21).
Senior goalkeeper Mac Burke is currently ranked second in the Patriot League in saves per game (4.20). Burke has played all 465 minutes of Navy's season so far, as have Jones and sophomore defender Diego Manrique.
Duquesne enters Saturday's contest on a three-game losing skid. The Dukes fell to Wright State, 1-0, on Tuesday and previously lost to Bucknell, 2-0, and Marshall, 3-1. Duquesne's lone win this season was a 5-0 decision over Division II Bloomsburg.
Sophomore forwards Jallah Acqui and Zach Hall led Duquesne in scoring this season with five points apiece. The pair has each scored two goals with one assist. Freshman forward Tyrese Edwards has also scored two goals for four points.
Duquesne has used two goalkeepers this season. Redshirt sophomore Robbie McKelvey is 1-3-0 with a 1.64 goals-against average and a .700 save percentage in 330 minutes. McKelvey has started the last four games. Redshirt sophomore Scott Rissier is 0-1-0 with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .333 save percentage in 120 minutes.
Navy and Duquesne battled to a 0-0 double-overtime draw last season in Annapolis. Navy outshot Duquesne, 12-11, but neither team could tally a goal. Burke made four saves to earn the shutout for Navy.
Navy leads the all-time series against Duquesne, 1-0-1. In addition to last year's draw, Navy defeated the Dukes in 2000, 3-0.
Navy will next play at UMBC (4-1-0) on Wednesday, Sept. 20 in Baltimore.
